Aurora 7 was the name given by Scott Carpenter to spacecraft 18 for the MA-7 mission.

Cece Bibby was again the artist for the "Nose Art" as she was for Friendship 7 Fig. Aur7-1 shows her painting the Aurora 7 insignia on the spacecraft.

Fig. Aur7-2 shows Scott Carpenter looking into his ride, with the finished artwork. Careful examination shows that "CAUTION THERMOCOUPLE" is stenciled in one of the shingle beads just below and to the right of the final "S" in "UNITED STATES". Various capsules carried similar markings to various degrees. The MA-5 capsule probably carried the most such markings.

Note that although the "7" in the "Aurora 7"logo has been depicted at times as being red, it was actually blue as shown in Fig Aur7-3, and Aur7-4 which is taken from video of the pre-flight preparations.
