Friendship 7 was the name given by John Glenn to spacecraft 13 for his MA-6 mission.

John Glenn was the first astronaut to "hire" an artist to paint the "nose art" on his capsule. Cece Bibby was working for a NASA subcontractor and sketched the artwork. Glenn insisted that she be the one to actually paint it on the capsule.

Note the "brushwork" showing in the finished result. The lettering doesn't seem to be evenly filled.
