The International Latex Corporation bid unsuccessfully on the contract to provide the Mercury pressure suit. The company later developed the Apollo pressure suits as a subcontractor to Hamilton Standard, and then got the contract to produce them.
The company is now knowy by the much more familiar name "Playtex."
