Boilerplate templates

Component Specification template

Template:Component Specification is a template for articles which describe a subsystem or component of the Mercury spacecraft in terms of it's evolution. It should be included when the article is first created by entering

{{subst:Component Specification}}

and then saving the article.

Chronology templates

Template:MercuryDevChronRef is a template which expands to a labeled link to a month section in the article Mercury development chronology. The template takes three arguments, the month which should be the full English name of the month (e.g. April rather than Apr), the year, and the actual text for example {{MercuryDevChronRef|April|1962|17 April 1962}}. This will link the text 17 April 1962 to the section of the Development Chronology article for April 1962.

The Template:MDCR is equivalent (and shorter).

Annotation templates

Template:An and Template:Anb can be used together to enter annotations (footnotes) in an article. Template:An is used for the Annotation, and Template:Anb is used for the actual note. They are used in pairs in the same article. They take an argument which is used to double link the reference[1] and the footnote[2]. The above annotation notes were written as

...reference{{an|one}} and the footnote{{an|two}}.

The notes themselves normally be collected at the end of the article in a numbered list such as:

  1. {{anb|one}}The first annotation
  2. {{anb|two}}The second annotation

The notes for the above examples can be seen below.

  1. Note: The first annotation
  2. Note: The second annotation
